It is reported that the break-in was discovered when a lecturer arrived for class on May 3, 2018, and “noticed a projector was dangling from the roof and items were missing.”

Mackay was arrested for drug possession in August 2018, and was today given a three-year Intensive Correction Order for the break-in. The order includes 200 hours of community service and the “conditions he attend rehabilitation and treatment and abstain from drugs.”

Magistrate David Day was reported as saying that Mackay had “demonstrated a capacity to rehabilitate himself.”
