About Us

SURG is the student run radio station at The University of Sydney. We continue the proud history of radio on campus since the 1920s. Our online broadcasting began 23 August 2011, and has continued ever since. One of the largest and most active clubs on campus, we were awarded the ‘Most Successful Club with over 100 members’ in 2012, and continue to grow our connections with local community and commercial radio groups.

When do we broadcast? How can you get a show?

SURG, as a part of the University of Sydney Union, broadcasts during both semesters of The University of Sydney academic year. To broadcast with us, you must sign up as a member (all members must be ACCESS Card holders), and attend our training sessions. These sessions aim to give you the basic skills required to start creating your very own show! Technical and legal training are usually conducted in the second and/or third weeks of semester. Keep an eye on our News page for more info on when we are next looking for new shows.

How can I listen?

Visit our listen page for the latest info on how to listen.

We are always working on new ways for you to find us. If you have an idea, or would like to stream SURG in your workplace, please get in touch.
